Austin Beck

Austin Beck is a former professional baseball player from Welcome, North Carolina.  Beck rose to prominence as a standout high school athlete at North Davidson High School, where he was ranked among the top prospects in the country.  Despite suffering an ACL injury during his junior year, his impressive performance and athletic potential kept him on scouts’ radar.

In the 2017 MLB Draft, Beck was selected 6th overall by the Oakland Athletics.  During his time with the A’s organization, he earned several accolades, including 2018 All-Star honors and multiple California and Texas League Player of the Week awards.  Known for his bat speed, athleticism, and strong arm, Beck stedily progressed through the minor league system, continuing to develop into a well-rounded outfielder.  In 2023, he suffered another major setback with a torn ACL that sidelined him for the entire season.   Following his recovery, he elected free agency.

Later in 2023, Beck signed a two-year contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers in hopes of making a full comeback.  Unfortunately, his career was cut short again in 2024 when he suffered a Labrum tear, leading to his early retirement from professional baseball.
